Digital assets have moved well past the point of being a fringe conversation. Family offices and institutional investors are paying attention. But attention and allocation are different things, and the distance between them is still significant.
Questions around risk frameworks, governance structures, and long-term portfolio fit remain unresolved for many. The appetite is there. The conviction, for most, is still forming.
Connect Group is addressing this directly at the World Family Office Forum Europe 2026, with a dedicated roundtable session built around the conversations investors are actually having behind closed doors. Leading that session will be Karl Naim, Group Chief Commercial Officer and SEO Middle East at XBTO.
Karl brings more than 18 years of experience across institutions, including UBS, Goldman Sachs, and Mubadala, alongside deep exposure to venture capital and asset management. His work has consistently sat at the intersection of serious institutional capital and emerging opportunity, giving him a grounded view of how sophisticated investors assess new asset classes and move from interest to informed decision.
The session, titled From Curiosity to Confidence: Investing in Digital Assets, is designed for family offices and institutional investors who are actively exploring digital assets but have not yet committed capital. Rather than a top-down presentation, the format is peer-led and discussion-driven, focused on asking better questions, pressure-testing risk assumptions, and working through whether and how digital assets belong in a broader portfolio.
The organisers describe it as a transparent exchange among people trying to explore the same uncertainties. The World Family Office Forum Europe 2026 continues Connect Group's work in facilitating substantive dialogue among long-term allocators.
